I would dream of long dead kings
In silent tombs thus laid
For once they dreamed of ladies fair
Of concubines and slaves

As mortal man no mind the rank
Our days are numbered still
To love, to hold, to touch, to kiss
To feel the climbing thrill

Waste not your time with worried brow
For worry eats the soul
Find joy where you can my friend
For aging takes it's toll

The Counter

A counter stands,
behind one and all,
that counts the seconds of our lives,
however long or small.

The Counter's silence causes fear
among both young and old,
for when the counting's stopped,
we grow both still and cold.

So embrace the time the Counter gives,
and live each tick as tho your last,
for when the Counter stops,
we meet our end, at last.

So while we live LET us Live,
Dum vivimus, vivamus!
"While we live, LET us LIVE!
for ars longa and vita brevis
"Art persists but life is brief"
yet love endures and life persists!
