I feel this pent up energy inside

To no longer be by your side

It’s dark inside my heart

You’re tearing me apart

 

I don’t need your criticisms

I don’t need you to question my decisions

I don’t need you to make me over dear

I may not be perfect but I’m pretty near

 

There’s just no pleasing you

I tried to hang on and make it through

But there is no more try left in me

I want out now can’t you see

 

You think you are fixing me

But you are ruining our destiny

Like a mirror I am shattered

What I want has never mattered

 

You judge my thoughts, my words, my voice

You’ve given me little choice

I’m tired of your microscope

Of living with a misanthrope

 

I’m throwing out all my things

I’m giving you back your diamond ring

I’m leaving in the pouring rain

Gonna catch the morning train
