Pat (device) - This article is about the device for inducing operant responses in males. For other uses see Pat - disambiguation.
Pat device (or Pat): Prostate-Aided Training device
Colloquially: Pat, Patty (from Pat-d), Mz Pat.
Pat refers to any one of a series of devices originally intended to control male prisoners in female-run prison facilities by Gynotech Industries LLP. which have been adapted for general male population control in many countries.
Versions::
Pat Mark I (Circa 2012): The Mark I was developed by a female engineer in response to a design bounty issued to Gynotech engineers for a control mechanism for male prisoners which could not, in principle, be used against women. The initial design was simple - in effect a small high frequency speaker that could be inserted rectally to attach to the prostate, where it could induce pain, pleasure, or frustration responses as required. It used a tiny, but relatively expensive methane fuel cell for power, and used technical tricks to establish connections from a bluetooth class 3 transponder to a class 1 network in the facility. A small cpu (Each with a unique serial number) initiated specific control protocols, using pain to inhibit masturbatory release and forcing implanted prisoners to maintain a physical distance of 5-6 feet from each other. (This was ostensibly to prevent violence, though it is noted even today that the inability to receive pleasure stimulus from anyone but a properly pleased female with a controller tends to make males eager to perform any feasible task.)
Control Mechanism: Unlike the Pat itself, the controller has kept a standardized (albeit improving) design over the years - essentially a glove with certain electronic components woven into it to detect galvanic responses and the preset control gestures. Thus by simply rubbing the index finger and thumb together frustration could be induced, gripping into a fist caused intense pain, intense pleasure could be induced by pointing the index finger at a target and rotating the tip in a small circular motion. Even more complex control was possible even with the original controller - swinging the hand as if slapping caused intense but short pain, while moving the index finger in a ‘come hither’ motion caused pain if the target resisted, and erotic frustration as they submitted.
Intensity was determined in part by the detection of galvanic responses inside the glove - a ‘virtual slap’ delivered by a genuinely angry guard delivered much higher intensity pain than one delivered as a matter of course by an uninterested guard. Genuine fear in a guard ramped the intensity to a (potentially fatal) higher level, typically stopped by safety mechanisms from being delivered by calm or merely angry officers.
Control could also be initiated the central network - prisoners detected outside their expected locations could be rendered helpless, voice stress detection would reward honest and discipline dishonesy answers to questioning as a matter of course, even paths from area to area in the daily routine could be enforced by rewarding good behavior and disciplining deviation.
Limitations and shortcomings:
The Mark I Pat had several shortcomings, mostly to do with the methane fuel cell used for power. The power was generated and stored efficiently during the first two years of operation, however because the power required for creating sensation varied, frustration was encouraged as a motivator over pleasure, and pleasure over pain - prolonged pain could temporarily drain the Pat of all power in under three minutes, prolonged pleasure in under ten, while the tease/frustration level required could be maintained virtually indefinitely. As this style of conditioning proved quite effective, this bias in usage is still typical, but it originates in the power limitations of the original cell,
More severely the residue from the intestinal tract would slowly reduce the efficiency of the cell by as much as 50% by year three or four, and after five years the Pat would require being removed and cleaned or replaced entirely. Small improvements in the Ia variant changed this from a fairly intensive operation to do without damaging the prostate to a matter of minutes, but although the principles were considered well proven, the implementation was slated for redesign in less than a decade.
Pat Mark II (Circa 2021): the fundamental issue with the Mark I was the limitations of the methane fuel cell, an innovative design decision that simply had not worked in practice. The Mark II was designed to actually be inserted up into the prostate via the urethra, and use the alkali properties of the prostate fluid for power. The same control mechanism and bluetooth networking were used, but the Pat actually stimulated the prostate nerves directly rather than using vibrations, requiring much less power, yet having considerably more available. There was no need, or indeed ability, to remove the Mark II, it could painlessly suppress (or initiate) the orgasm response, tests showed it could be expected to survive the lifetime of the prisoner, it was cheaper than the Mark I to manufacture, and indeed easier and safer. Lastly testing showed only three unexpected side effects -- the lowered pH of the prostate fluid reduced the fertility of recipients to zero (without trivial intervention), the same lowering of pH caused semen to gain a ‘sweet’ or ‘citrus’ flavor, and that prostate cancer in recipients dropped to virtually zero.
This caused markets for the Mark II to open that were previously closed, most notably in China, where a female prison official found the Mark II to be a more civilized solution to the problem of predominantly male political prisoners. (See below)
Pat Mark III and Mark IV (Circa 2025 and 2032): The Mark III and Mark IV variations were incremental improvements, rather than the major shift of the Mark II. The use of a carbon filament antenna made the Mark III compatible and controllable with WiFi connections, rather than the limited range bluetooth frequencies used previously, and the Mark IV used the first true nanotech implementation to ‘grow’ a cellular antenna using the prostate itself, allowing control to be expanded over cellular networks. The Mark IV is also the first device capable of initiating coupling with the prostate nerves even if the prostate itself has been removed, and of integrating a command to temporarily restore fertility to a recipient by increasing the pH of the prostate fluid. In recent years a variant of the Mark IV designed to avoid standard detection has been discovered by the international intelligence community. (See “Lysistrata Coup” below)
Pat Mark V (expected in the fourth quarter of 2039): The Mark V is a new design being tested, incorporating the concepts of the previous designs into a small nano-bot mechanism which, placed at the tip of the Urethra, can actually self-implant itself into the recipients prostate. Additionally it is designed, when implanted in a woman, to integrate with the spinal column via the uterus, completely displacing the need for an external control mechanism.
Attempts to make this self-replicating, such that an implanted female will automatically introduce the Pat via intercourse or vice versa have not yet met with success and are expected to be delayed until the Mark VI (~ 2045)
History:
Despite the occasional rumors behind Gynotech’s successful rehabilitation system, in the United States the use of the Mark I and Mark II had largely remained a secret outside certain conspiracy circles. After it’s introduction in reforming Chinese dissidants however, a degree of corruption, anti-male sentiment (based in part in the rate of female infanticide), and the ease of replacing ‘missing’ inexpensive Mark II shipments led to it being a blackmarket item among Chinese women - actually implanting a man, while the equipment to do so was expensive, was a one time event that could be done in a hotel room while the recipient was unconscious, or even sleeping deeply.
The nature of the black market often meant the recipient was entirely unaware that he was now one of “Mistress Pat’s Boys”, or the meaning of the now fashionable trend of wearing opera gloves of various fashions among the women in the metropolitan area - only that he had difficulty masturbating, habitually maintained a distance between himself and other men, and was entirely of competing with, or indeed resisting, the new women who composed only 20% of his generation but were slowly gaining control of all management and political positions.
Although it took nearly a generation to shift from the People Republic of China to the Womens Republic of China, the black market for the Mark II spread well outside China itself, often via the same cover (or indeed valid) mechanism of utilizing it in prison control. Accordingly the Mark III entered Japan via Taiwan and Hong Kong; the Mark III and later Mark IV spread north and towards Europe via Siberia. By 2035 the use of the Pat was spread through out Asia, Africa, parts of the Mideast, and portions of Central and South America;, spreading to virtually everywhere north of Australia and East of India to some extent or the other. It spread particularly quickly in areas where equal rights for women were non-existent or not enforced, rarely with the rapidity of China, but even in Western Europe women wearing a single opera glove became a statement of siding with the tide of ‘Sisterhood’.
United States “Lysistrata Coup”: until 2038 it was generally believed the Western democracies had successfully resisted the spread of the Pat. Although the political will had never developed to end it’s use as a rehabilitation tool (due to the expense of competing systems) and attempts to end it’s use internationally had failed due to being blocked by China and Russia, the perception was that it was successfully blockaded at points of entry to the western democracies by virtue of being able to detect the signals or if need be physical scans. This illusion was shattered in 2038 when an investigation of the resignation of certain specific officials found was the result of they themselves being unknowing hosts of ‘stealth’ Mark IV Pats that actively avoided detection. This was eventually found to be a specific result of soldiers returning from tours of duty in various countries where the stealth mark IV - either directly in the case of male soldiers or via being suborned in the case of female soldiers.
Although arguably unsuccessful, the existence of a virtually undetectable variant raised considerable questions as to how much Western political and military infrastructure remains under the influence or control of Pat-controlled gynocracies.
