Technically I turned 23 a few days ago, but I supposed that is really a moot point. From the standpoint of how you acquire skill, I'm convinced that part of it is just naturally having it. I've seen people as young as 19 who were really good, and had a lot fun once with someone who has 16, but she was far too rough around the edges to be called "good". From talking to other people around my age with some skill and how they got there I've come up with five general things someone has to have.
1.Listening to a lot of hypnosis. If you've never gone under you're going to have a hard time knowing when people go under and the kinds of things someone might be feeling. For instance if someone goes deeply under their fingers may feel tingly. When someone asks if that's good/bad/unsual/unhealthy/etc. your answer better be better than "I dunno". Listening to how it's done can also give you pointers for how to do it yourself, such as "I really like that phrase" or "that breath really screwed me up" or "why the hell was that noise inserted there".
2.Natural talent. I tend to overysimply things when explaining it to beginners, but there really is a lot that you have to take in and incorporate into any hypnosis section. Knowing what to do with your voice when is something that could spark endless depate, especially in NLP. You need to have a knack for it. Without that intuition there is simply too much you have to learn scientifically to be successful in your early 20s.
3.Ability to learn by watching and/or listening. Obviously people in their early 20s aren't old enough to have graduated college and done abvanced studies in hypnosis. You have to be able to pick up how it's done by listening, even if it's just on a subconscious level.
4.Taken some effort to learn more about hypnosis from a technical perspective. Possibly by taking a clinical hypnonsis class, possibly by doing a lot of reading or some other method. I've never met anyone who became really good solely using the "monkey see monkey do" approach.
5.Finding a "hypnosis voice". I'm sure you've noticed that most "hypnotic" voices are not one's normal speaking voice. Most people spend a long time tweaking the voice they use for hypnosis. I mostly bypassed this by using Jonathan Altfeld's "Finding Your Irrestible Voice" CD set. The only drawback is that it's NLP.
I found it easy to learn, but my brain seems to be wired that way. If you're curious about it get some books from the library and do some reading.
Orgasm via hypnosis is a relatively easy thing to do. It's triggered by one signal from the brain, just like moving your hand. The only difference is how you perceive the difference between orgasm and moving your hand.
For erotic hypnosis, I would generally agree that I'm not very interested in having a guy put me under. The one exception is the Erotic Programming MP3 from hypnosis.kicks-ass.net. It's done by the same guy who made Virtual Hypnotist. You also need either the horny or orgasm trigger to use after the file. Both are effective, and it doesn't bother me since the guy is just conditioning my brain. The effects aren't felt until he is finished.
For non-erotic hypnosis however, I haven't seen many of the more useful files even being offered by women. I've never seen a woman offer the "get 8 hours of sleep in 4 hours" type of file before. That's not to say no women have ever done it or tried it, I just haven't come across it.
